RISE Team-Led Projects

RISE addresses a range of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) issues and looks at the many ways violence and abuse show up in people’s lives, recognising that these harms don’t look the same for everyone. Our four team-led projects will help tackle these complex challenges, aligning with the Government’s VAWG Strategy and Safer Streets Mission.

We want our work to reach practitioners and policymakers working in this area, and most importantly, make a difference to those impacted by gender-based violence and abuse.

Multi-Agency Approaches to Managing High-Risk High-Harm Perpetrators

This project will examine whether the Multi Agency Tasking and Coordination (MATAC) approach to managing high-risk, high-harm domestic abuse perpetrators reduces re-arrest rates compared to standard criminal justice processes.

Domestic Homicide Reviews of Son-Mother Matricide

This project aims to reduce the number of son-mother matricides across England and Wales, through producing evidence-based resources for practitioners working in health, mental health, and substance dependency support agencies

Rapid Evidence Review of Primary Prevention Research

This project aims to understand what increases the risk of men and boys using violence against women and girls, and to identify what works to prevent this before it happens.

Women and Girls' Experience of Safety While Running

This project aims to deliver a prototype of a cross-platform mobile application designed to capture women’s and girls’ experiences of safety while running.
