Areas of focus
SPRITE+’s areas of focus for 2024-2027 are:
Living in an inauthentic world
Resilience and TIPS.
Trustworthy digital identities.
Neurotechnology and its impact on TIPS.
Digital cities and connected places.
Digital twins and simulative technologies.
These areas of focus have been distilled through a number of internal discussions and deliberations, engagements with stakeholders and the outcomes of two key events: our Futures Summer Camp (held in July 2023), and our Expert Fellows meeting (held in May 2024).
These activities suggested two broad threads as organising themes for SPRITE+:
1. Human-technology interaction.
2. Cyber-physical systems and infrastructure.
Crosscutting these two themes are a set of interrelated lenses:
-
GERP: Governance, ethics regulation and policy
-
Language, meaning, education and communication.
-
Trust and trustworthiness.
-
