About the event
Co-hosted by the Common Futures Conversations community at Chatham House and SPRITE+, the Digital Identity Systems Policy Hackathon brought together young students, researchers and professionals from around the world to develop policy solutions related to the ownership and management of digital identity.
Over the course of three separate sessions, participants had the chance to hear from leading experts in the field of digital identity such as Yiannis Theodorou of the Tony Blair Institute, learn from advisors from Chatham House and the Alan Turing Institute, and work with other participants from a diverse range of backgrounds.
During the final session, groups presented their solutions to a panel of judges working in the digital identity space in academia, think tanks and the private sector. The winning group’s solution promoted a form of digital identity for refugees and asylum seekers in the UK.
