About the event
This one-day symposium presents an overview of the ECR Network and AI Ethics Project, a collaborative project run by FRACTAI (The Foundation for Research, Accreditation, Communication and Training in AI) aiming at building a strong, interdisciplinary network of early-career researchers in Artificial Intelligence (AI), with a particular focus on AI ethics and responsible AI practices. As AI systems increasingly shape decision-making across the world, there is a growing need to support emerging researchers who can integrate technical excellence with ethical awareness, governance, and human-centred design.
The symposium will provide a dedicated forum to explore ethical foundations of AI, ethical challenges in real-world AI applications, responsible AI practices and governance frameworks, and the future of AI–human collaboration. Through specialized talks, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, participants will examine issues such as fairness, transparency, accountability, bias, privacy, and the societal implications of AI-driven systems, especially in the UK.
The symposium will serve as a foundation for ongoing collaboration, capacity building, and future research initiatives in AI ethics and responsible AI development.
