SPRITE+ 2026 Expert Fellows Meeting
Our annual SPRITE+ Expert Fellows Meeting will take place across two days in Edinburgh.

Time & Location
08 Sept 2026, 10:30 – 09 Sept 2026, 15:15
Edinburgh, UK
About the event
The theme for this year’s meeting will be Building a TIPSS framework. At present, there is no overarching theory or model which explains why we need to consider the TIPSS elements jointly; why is the whole more than the sum of the parts. The goal is to address the gap.
The meeting will be a mixture of provocation talks and breakout sessions. We will also be canvassing your views on what should be in phase 3 of SPRITE+ (which will run from Summer 2027).
A professional photographer will also be providing free SPRITE+ branded headshots on the day - please express your interest on the registration form.
Confirmed speakers include:
Kieron O’Hara, Computer scientist and philosopher, interested in the social and political context of technology: 'TIPSS: Is Trust the Odd One Out?'
Lizzie Coles-Kemp, Professor in Information Security, Royal Holloway University of London: 'Digital Responsibility: From Theory Into Practice'
Briana Bowen: Co-Founder and Adjunct Faculty, Center for Anticipatory Intelligence at Utah State University: 'Sizing Up Emerging TIPSS Implications from Quantum Computing'
Anna Piazza, Senior lecturer in Economic Sociology at School of Business and Operations of Strategy: 'TIPSS adoption in the era of converging technologies.'
