About the event
Our XRCET-TIPSS Academic-Industry Meeting (AIM) Day was held in London on 7th May, and proved to be a tremendous success, with 19 expressions of interest for collaborations between industry partners and academics submitted by the end of the day.
The day began with SPRITE+ Co-Director Prof Deeph Chana setting the scene for our AIM Day goals, format and funding opportunities, shortly followed by a keynote from XRCET-TIPSS Deep Dive lead Prof Emma Barrett on 'How and why XR disrupts our understandings of TIPSS'. This was followed by lightning industry pitches where 15 companies set out their research interests and innovation challenges, a keynote address by Asha Easton (Innovate UK) on bridging the gap between academia and industry, and a series of networking and thematic discussion sessions where academic and industry partners explored avenues for collaboration.
