SPRITE+ 2025 Academic-Industry Meeting (AIM) Day

Our AIM Day was designed to initiate relationships between Trust, Identity, Privacy and Security researchers and cognate organisations. Our aim was to facilitate partnerships between academic and non-academic organisations via sponsored academic secondments and PhD placements.

We offered:

• Up to £50k for up to five academic Expert Fellow secondments for projects that are partnerships between academic and non-academic organisations (from any sector).

• Funding for selected PhD placements (see below call document for details).

  
  

How did it work?

• Attending academics gave three-minute elevator pitches on their research and proposed secondment topics.

• Attending non-academic organisations (private companies, public sector, etc) gave three-minute elevator pitches on their research and innovation challenges, and secondment opportunities for collaborative research. Non-academic organisations could also attend AIM Day without presenting.

• Regular networking breaks gave attendees a chance to meet and discuss potential collaborations.

Our second Academic–Industry Engagement Meeting was successfully held at Plexal East London, bringing together representatives from major tech companies, SMEs, and government agencies in a dynamic "speed-dating" format.
