About the event
We are approaching an age where AI will possibly be everywhere. For many of us, researchers interested in the psychosocial impact of AI, this is a time to find our community and chart a way forward for the ethical development of AI within our society.
If you are a researcher, particularly from the LMIC region, seeking guidance and an interactive communal space to brainstorm and receive feedback on your research ideas related to tech ethics, the socio-political landscape of AI, or digital vulnerabilities resulting from AI. Then, these workshops are a good starting point for you to network, find your community, discuss your research and receive feedback.
The workshops are structured as follows:
Workshop 1: Overview of tech ethics, AI socio-political issues, and digital vulnerabilities
Workshop 2: Methods for studying AI in socio-political contexts (e.g., qualitative, policy, or mixed approaches)
Workshop 3: Lightning Talks by Participants – short presentations of research ideas
This was a series of interactive online workshops where researchers had the chance to discuss your research ideas collaboratively with peers and experts across two months. Recommended reading lists and other materials were provided a week before the workshops start.
This workshop series was funded by SPRITE+ and run by Archana Raghavan (doctoral researcher at the University of Bath).
