Each forum aims to stimulate imaginative developments in trust, identity, privacy and security and to be responsive to new interdisciplinary needs and opportunities. These events, designed by the proposers, generally involve an invited group of academics and collaborators who are identified by the applicants to contribute to advancement of the of the new idea for the benefit of TIPS research and/or practice. Each forum will be focused on a deep dive into the innovation area with a view to achieving clear objectives that produce one or more outputs.
Innovation Fora outputs could include the production of a position paper, the development of training, the creation of a community of practice, new resources or generating a larger application for funding. Delivery can be either face-to-face or online. Typically, these events last one or two full days if in-person or a series of events over several weeks or months if online. Blended approaches are also welcome.
There are no topic restrictions, but applications should address innovation in one or more of the TIPS areas (Trust, Identity, Privacy, Security). Interdisciplinary collaborative applications are strongly encouraged, as are those involving applicants from different sectors.
Eligible costs
Successful applicants will have access to a budget up to £5,000 per forum. Travel and subsistence (UK and overseas), consumables, costs for venue hire, marketing and local administrative support may be included.
