Innovations in Data Synthesis: a SPRITE+ innovation forum
Thu 24 Jul
|Manchester
“Innovations in Data Synthesis” is a SPRITE+ Innovation Forum designed to bring together field leaders and practitioners to explore the transformative potential of synthetic data.

Time & Location
24 Jul 2025, 12:00 – 25 Jul 2025, 15:30
Manchester, Manchester, UK
About the event
Synthetic data – from generative models to rule-based simulation – offers a methodology where privacy protection, data utility, and innovation intersect. This forum will convene experts across disciplines to consider how emerging methods (like GANs, VAEs, diffusion models, and CART) are being applied in practice, especially in domains such as health, policing, social research, and finance. We will critically examine trade-offs between utility, fidelity and risk, explore practical deployment strategies, and identify future needs for regulation, tooling, and standards.
Through focused discussion, we aim to generate a position paper and set the agenda for a new community of practice at the intersection of data synthesis and TIPS (Trust Identity Privacy and Security). Whether you’re innovating new models or applying them in the field, this is your invitation to help shape the future of data-driven innovation.
Applications close on Thursday 3rd July
